Sports Massage

What is Sports Massage?
Sports massage can be a useful part of training for professional or weekend athletes. It uses a wide variety of techniques including assisted stretching and cross-fiber friction to address the specific needs of individual athletes. Before an event,
massage can help warm tissues to help protect against injury and improve performance. After a sporting event, the aim of massage is to rid the muscles of metabolic wastes such as lactic acid, as well as to restore circulation to overexerted tissues. For an injured athlete, the goal is to use massage to reduce swelling, hasten healing, and prevent the formation of scar tissue.
