Clyde Anderson

“I believe my greatest responsibility as a massage therapist is to educate my clients and community about the benefits of massage therapy.”

Clyde is certified in a variety of massage modalities. He has been in practice for 6 years, integrating Swedish and deep tissue massage with stretching. He also provides specialized sessions in sports massage, Thai on the Table, and Active Isolated Stretching (AIS), which is a great asset for Clyde’s approach to massage therapy. Through AIS, the client becomes much more aware of and active in their own healing process, and can reach and maintain a balance in their life and body. AIS can be done with a world class athlete, a weekend athlete, a Parkinson sufferer, a person with fibromyalgia, or a soon-to-be mom. The protocols are the same.

Clyde has taught at the Potomac Massage Training Institute (PMTI) for 5 years and is part owner of A Calmness Within.

Cheryl Alderdice

“I find that the power of touch has tremendous healing benefits. Through massage I am able to assist my clients with their healing process and bring an awareness of their general well-being.”

Cheryl is also part owner of A Calmness Within. As a practitioner, Cheryl combines a variety of modalities in her bodywork to initiate the release of muscle tension, stimulate circulation, and achieve deep relaxation. She is trained in Swedish and deep tissue massage, Lymphatic Drainage Therapy, Reiki, and therapeutic massage for people living with cancer. Cheryl understands the importance of a safe place for clients and of using compassionate touch as a means for the individual to let go and begin the healing process physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Pauline Lockard

“As a personal trainer and competitive athlete, I have discovered that massage can help create a sense of equilibrium and prepare the body for ALL levels of activity... from walking your dog to competing in a marathon. I love to visualize what clients do and how they do it, and through massage, to give the body an opportunity to restore and prepare for what it is up against. ”

Pauline uses her training in Swedish and deep tissue massage to help clients release the tension that builds from daily activities and create a path for balance. She has a special interest in exercise physiology and the changes that occur with the body both physically and mentally. She uses her deep tissue technique to isolate areas of tightness and to create a sense of openness and length throughout the body. When muscles tighten up they tend to bind and reduce mobility. Massage can assist in releasing the tightness and improving range of motion, resulting in freedom of movement and injury prevention. Pauline incorporates her training in Pilates and yoga to assist in establishing a breathing pattern that helps to relax and replenish the body with some of the essential elements of life. She teaches and certifies other group exercise instructors and personal trainers, and has a strong foundation in anatomy and physiology.

Nicole St. Denis (Zeigler)

“I believe massage therapy is an important part of health maintenance and injury prevention.”

Nicole incorporates Swedish and deep tissue techniques that are specially tailored to each clients needs. She has recently studied Thai on the Table and Neuromuscular Therapy for the head and neck. With extensive knowledge of the anatomy of the body she favors working on muscle attachments to help loosen the belly of the muscles. Her deep tissue work is patient and focused. She says that her Swedish work is like painting a new picture…each client a fresh canvas. She has a strong belief in the importance of bodywork as a way of caring for the body before problems such as pain, injury, and dysfunction begin. Nicole enjoys yoga and Pilates because of the strong emphasis they put on the core muscles. She sees the changes the two exercises have made in her life in terms of better posture and stability for the lower back in her active massage work. Nicole loves what she does and feels lucky to have a career in massage therapy.

Eileen Zagone

“My aim is to provide a peaceful interlude in the lives of my clients to facilitate their physical and mental well-being.”

Eileen incorporates Swedish and deep tissue massage with stretching, Thai on the Table, and myofascial release techniques to foster deep relaxation, relieve chronic pain, and promote overall wellness. She has also received advanced training in hot stone and prenatal massage techniques. She believes that massage offers a broad range of benefits to mind and body, including increased circulation and flexibility, greater body acceptance and awareness, and pain relief.

Carole Dean

“I believe massage therapy can play an integral part in promoting overall good health and well being. My emphasis is on providing on going treatments that are healing and preventive.”

Carole is experienced in Swedish and deep tissue massage therapy, and is certified in oncology massage. She provides an effective alternative therapy that will enhance traditional medical practices. Her Swedish and deep tissue techniques will help relieve muscular spasm and tension, increase healthy functioning of the skin, promote healing of tissues and provide profound relaxation. Carole's goals through massage is to free the body, invigorate the spirit, refresh the soul.
